Here are a few things kicking around my in-box.  Enjoy!

• The Fed has created an online publication to help consumers learn about the new overdraft protection rights that will take effect July 1, 2010.  I always point these out, because these publications always trigger columns by financial columnists in area newspapers.  And your members will read those columns.  For that reason, I’d take a look-see.

• Oh, the irony.  On the day the Feb. 22 Reg Z rules go into effect, the Fed finally published the rule in the Federal Register.

• Speaking of the Fed and their little consumer websites, here’s one for the new CARD Act protections. There are two points to remember here.  As I noted above, people will get this information via columns and TV news spots.  Also, we’re going to have to include the address for this web site on credit card applications and solicitations beginning on July 1, 2010.  See 12 C.F.R. Part 226. 5a(b)(15). 

• NAFCU is hosting a RESPA webcast on March 3.
